GET UP OUTTA MY SEAT

get up outta my seat shown with a green chair

From the very beginning, the enemy has had one goal: to steal what rightfully belongs to God’s people. Jesus made it plain in John 10:10: "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy." The devil isn’t just trying to make life difficult—he wants to take something specific from you. He wants to rob you of your position, your authority, and your identity in Christ.

In Ephesians 2, Paul reminds us that even when we were spiritually dead, Christ made us alive and seated us with Him in heavenly places. That seat represents our position in the kingdom, a place of dominion, peace, and victory. But the enemy is working overtime to take that seat from us.

Too many believers unknowingly surrender their authority by accepting the enemy’s lies. He doesn’t have to steal everything at once—he just needs to plant doubt, fear, or distraction. He wants to sit where faith should reign. He wants to occupy the seat of your mind, your family, your calling, and your worship. But today, we’re serving him an eviction notice. It’s time to rise up and declare, “Get up out of my seat!”

The Enemy Wants Your Seat:

1. The Seat of Your Mind

The battle starts in your thoughts. If the enemy can control your mind, he can control your life. Fear, anxiety, and doubt are his greatest weapons. But Philippians 4:8 gives us the strategy: meditate on things that are true, noble, just, and praiseworthy. If the enemy has been sitting in your mind, it’s time to reclaim your thoughts. Declare today, “I have the mind of Christ!”

2. The Seat of Your Family

Satan has been attacking families since the beginning. He knows that a divided home is a weak home. He’ll use busyness, conflict, and distractions to keep you from making God the center of your household. But Joshua 24:15 says, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." It’s time to pray over your home, to declare God’s promises over your children, and to tell the enemy, “Get up out of my seat!”

3. The Seat of Your Calling

Many believers sit on the sidelines because the enemy has convinced them they aren’t good enough. He whispers, "You missed your chance. You’re not gifted enough. Someone else could do it better." But Romans 11:29 reminds us that "the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable." If God has called you, He has equipped you. Stop waiting for the perfect moment—walk in your purpose today.

4. The Seat of Your Worship

Worship is not just singing—it’s spiritual warfare. When you praise God, you confuse the enemy. He doesn’t understand why you’re still worshiping despite your struggles. That’s why he tries to silence you. But Psalm 34:1 says, "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." Your worship shifts the atmosphere, so don’t let the enemy steal your praise. Take back your worship and say, “Get up out of my seat!”

Take Back Your Seat

The enemy only has power where we allow him to sit. But we are not called to be victims—we are called to be victorious. Jesus didn’t just die to forgive sins; He died to restore authority. When He rose again, He took back dominion that had been lost since the Garden of Eden, and He shared it with us. We are seated with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), which means we don’t fight for victory—we fight from victory.

So let me ask you today: where has the enemy been sitting in your life? Has he taken your peace? Your home? Your confidence? Your calling? If so, it’s time to stand in faith and tell him, “Get up out of my seat!”

Today is not just another Sunday. This is a moment of divine confrontation. The devil has stolen too much for too long, but now it’s time to take back what belongs to you. Step into your God-given authority. Stand on His promises. Take back your seat.

Victory is already yours.

By Anthony Miller February 17, 2025
The book of Jude may be short, but its message is packed with depth and urgency. As we continue through this powerful letter, we find Jude urging believers to contend for the faith—to struggle for it, defend it, and stand firm in it. This isn't about being argumentative or contentious, but about upholding the truth with both boldness and grace.
Partial Obedience; Full-Sized Struggle
By Anthony Miller February 10, 2025
In Luke 5:4-11, we find a powerful moment between Jesus and Simon Peter. After a long, frustrating night of catching nothing, Jesus tells Peter to launch into the deep and let down his nets for a catch. Peter, exhausted and doubtful, responds, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing. Nevertheless, at Your word, I will let down the net." Did you catch that? Jesus said nets—plural—but Peter only let down one.
My time to shine

Trusting Jesus doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes, it means stepping out in faith, taking action, and moving forward. Other times, it requires waiting—resting in Him and allowing Him to work things out in His timing. We want to fix things ourselves, to hustle and strive for solutions, but sometimes, God says, “Wait. I will fix it. I will work it out.”
His Version of Me
By Anthony Miller January 29, 2025
Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt like you weren’t enough? Maybe you’ve been weighed down by past mistakes, insecurities, or the voices of the world telling you that you’ll never measure up. But what if I told you that the version of yourself you see isn’t the version that God sees?

Picture a vineyard, lush with green vines and branches heavy with ripe, juicy grapes. The vine dresser walks through the rows, pruning shears in hand. Every snip and cut, though painful to the branch, is intentional—designed to create space for greater fruitfulness. This image, drawn from John 15, paints a vivid picture of God’s role in our lives.
Rivers in the Desert
By Anthony Miller January 13, 2025
The message of Isaiah 43 and the testimonies shared are clear: God is in the business of making a way. If He could create rivers in the desert for Israel, heal broken bodies, restore shattered lives, and protect His children in impossible situations, He can do the same for you.
Walking the Walk: Living Out Our Faith in Christ
By Anthony Miller January 10, 2025
The Christian life is often described as a journey, a walk with God. This metaphor paints a picture of action, progress, and intentionality. In Colossians 1:24–2:15, Paul offers profound insight into what it means to walk in Christ. He challenges believers to stay grounded in the truth of the gospel, to avoid being captivated by hollow philosophies, and to live lives that reflect their faith. His words remind us that our walk is not just about movement, but about moving in the right direction.
